'Oompa-Loompa' Valentino's famous orange tan rub off on Sarah Jessica Parker?
He may be one of the top fashion designers around, but Garavani Valentino isn't going to set any trends with his dark orange tan.
The 76-year-old style guru's skin looked alarmingly amber as he arrived at the opening night of the New York City Ballet's new season.
And it appears Valentino's glowing hue rubbed off on his famous friend Sarah Jessica Parker as the pair hugged on the red carpet last night.

After embracing her designer pal, Parker's perfectly made up face appeared to have been soiled by a spattering of fake tan.
Despite being a healthy colour, Parker looked positively pale next to the mahogany designer.
The Italian fashion designer's year-round 'tan' has been mocked by critics and has even led to him being compared to an Oompa-Loompa from the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Valentino retired with much fanfare earlier this year and will be a tough act to follow in the fashion world.
Despite her unfortunate make-up incident, Parker looked sleek in a black bandeau dress with silver beading sleeves and hemline.
Sensibly she opted for black opaque tights to keep her warm as the New York evening plummeted to a chilly 2 degrees Celsius.
Parker in an avid fan of ballet having trained in the art as a child.
She attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati before moving on to the School of American Ballet - which is linked to the New York City Ballet.
Over the weekend, Parker confirmed she would be stepping into Carrie Bradshaw's shoes again to film a sequel to the hugely successful Sex And The City movie, which came out earlier this year.
She admitted writer/director Michael Patrick King has developed a plot for the sequel, but it wouldn't involve Bradshaw having children with her new husband John James Preston, aka Mr Big (Chris Noth).
Parker believes they may even start filming next summer with a possible release in 2010.
Joining Valentino and Parker at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center was Sex And The City writer Candace Bushnell and Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams.
Blonde author Bushnell looked glamorous in a floral halterneck gown, while Williams showed off her impressive curves in a figure-hugging, strapless dress.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick escape to the Hamptons following affair claims
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick fled to their beach home for some alone time following press allegations the actor had cheated on his wife.
The couple and their five-year-old James Wilke escaped to their house in The Hamptons, upstate New York last month following the reports.
Far from her fashionable Sex And The City character Carrie, SJP dressed casually for a day on the beach in blue board shorts and a stripy vest, which showed off her golden tan.

Meanwhile her husband of 11 years Matthew appeared a tad sunburnt as he covered up in a grey t-shirt and patterned blue shorts.
The couple spent the day on the beach playing with their son and Jack Russell terrier in the sand for a traditional family day out.
At the end of the day, Sarah Jessica, 43, tied up the numerous buckets and spades left discarded on the sand by their son, as Matthew kept the dog occupied.
Reports last month alleged the 46-year-old actor had a series of late-night liaisons with a 25-year-old woman while Sarah Jessica was filming Sex And The City: The Movie earlier this year.

The couple put on a united front at a New York restaurant last week in a rare public outing together.
A source defended the couple, saying: 'They have never had a conventional marriage, but it works for the two of them.
'Sure they fight like other couples but they love each other and their little boy. They are so private and hate all this silly gossip.'
Before the Sex And The City premiere in May, Parker called her marriage to the actor 'a treacherous train ride'.
'I'm really lucky that he is the father of my son,' she said. 'But that doesn't mean we always agree on everything.
'I'm happy to be with him regardless, but I'm sure there are many times he wishes he wasn't with me.'

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick put on a show of unity after affair claims
Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick put up a united front on a night out in New York following allegations he had an affair with a 25-year-old woman.
The couple, who are rarely pictured together in public, emerged from a Midtown restaurant last night, Broderick's arm wrapped around his wife as they smiled at photographers.

It's the first time the pair, who have been married for 11 years, have been seen together since a US magazine claimed he had a three month relationship with another woman while she was filming the Sex and the City movie.
It also follows fresh reports the couple have been 'living separate lives for some time'.
A source said that the 43-year-old actress had told a friend she and Broderick, 46, 'had been out of love for a long time but remain married for their son'.

The source added: 'Sarah and Matthew have been struggling for years. Now they have decided to make things work - especially for the sake of their son, James.'

Sarah Jessica Parker's marriage rocked by claims her husband Matthew Broderick had an affair
Sarah Jessica Parker's 11 year marriage to Matthew Broderick has been hit by claims he had an affair with a 25-year-old youth worker.
American magazine Star alleges the actor had a liaison with the unnamed woman from November to February while Sarah was shooting the big screen film, Sex And The City.
Broderick's spokesperson Simon Hall didn't deny the allegations, telling the magazine instead: 'There will be no comment.'

The publication reports the pair met in a Manhattan bar last November and later he was allegedly seen heading to the woman's apartment carrying wine and flowers.
It claims Broderick, 46, told the brunette his relationship with Parker, 43, was 'not good'.
Parker, who has a five-year-old son, James Wilkie, with the star, has previously admitted that their marriage is tumultuous at times.

In an April interview she said, 'I'm really lucky that he is the father of my son, but that doesn't mean that we always agree on everything. We've had some rather treacherous train rides.
'I'm happy to be with him regardless but I'm sure there are many times he wishes he wasn't with me.'
Broderick, 46, found fame with his blockbuster hit Ferris Bueller's Day Off in 1986, and most recently has starred in a series of Broadway shows including How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and The Producers.
Parker, who previously dated Robert Downey Jr. and John Kennedy Jr., married Broderick in May 1997 after five years together.

The girls are back! First glimpse at Sex and the City movie trailer
Eager fans of Sex and the City are being treated to a sneak peek inside the silver screen version with the release of the first official trailer.
The 35 second clip - which tempts fans to 'get Carried away' - features Sarah Jessica Parker's trademark narration and ends with a kiss from Chris Noth's Mr Big.

Shooting for the eagerly anticipated movie finished late last month, and the cast and crew celebrated with an official wrap party at New York's Royalton Hotel on Saturday.
The foursome - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon - were at the party, and Sarah was spotted sipping drinks with friends until the early hours of Sunday.

Sarah, who features in the trailer wearing a dramatic lavish wedding dress, has remained tight lips amid much speculation about the movie's plot.

She said recently: "I can't give the story away but I can say it will involve two weddings and no funerals!"
Victoria Beckham was left disappointed after she was forced to turn down a cameo in the film due to her rigorous touring schedule with the Spice Girls.
She said last month: "I got asked to be in the Sex And The City film, which I would love to have done."

"But because I am in full-on Spice Girls rehearsals, unfortunately I can't do it. It would have been great fun."
Mario Cantone will reprise his role as Charlotte's best gay friend, and Willie Garson will also return as Stanford Blatch.
Dreamgirls' Jennifer Hudson is a new addition to cast, and will play Carrie's assistant.
Sex And The City: The Movie is expected to be in UK cinemas next spring.

Big kisses for Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw
Carrie Bradshaw has quite literally been swept off her feet by her on-off lover Mr Big during filming of the upcoming Sex and the City movie.
The pair, played by Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth, were kissing passionately while shooting on the streets of New York.

The scenes are the latest in a host of dramatic moments, which include the couple's wedding - and a huge argument. Not all scenes will make it into the final movie.
As interest in the film reaches fever pitch, star Chris Noth says it's the only topic of conversation people want to discuss.
He told the New York Post: "Can't talk about Sex and the City. Everybody only wants to talk Sex and the City!"

He continued: "Bystanders text-message from our locations. Extras leak to the press what's shot. To keep the plot points secret, the show's filming false scenes and fake endings just to throw everybody off."
Noth has revealed how the fascination with the project is even taking over his other projects.
He explains: "You want to know about Sex and the City? I'm shooting outdoors in a bad neighbourhood in The Bronx for my other show, 'Law & Order.' We're tying up traffic. A held-up trucker behind me is crazed.

He tears through the light, halts our shoot and climbs out of his big 10-wheeler. I figure he'll pull a gun and shout: 'Get the f--- out of here you piece of s---,' and he rushes to me with, 'When you going to marry Carrie?'"
Meanwhile, Oscar winning actor Russell Crowe has revealed how he dreamed of landed a part in the popular series.
He has said: "I would have loved to do a guest [appearance] on 'Sex and the City.' That's my wife's favourite show."
"I would have loved a turn on an episode where my wife wasn't expecting me to be there. That would have been fun."

Sex and the City's Carrie Goes from Blonde to Brunette
Sex and the City fans are being kept guessing on details of what the plot of the film will be – but Sarah Jessica Parker couldn't keep one of the film's secrets under wraps.
The actress who plays fashion-forward journalist Carrie Bradshaw arrived on set having undergone a dramatic change in hair-colour from her usual curly blonde do to a more classic brunette.

Just what's prompted this change of hair colour is unclear – let's hope it's not due to relationship dramas with her notoriously fickle onscreen beau Mr. Big.
Filming of the big screen version of the cult wildly successful Sex and the City television show started earlier this week, after a deal was sealed between feuding actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.

Kiss and make up: Sex and the City co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall share an awkward kiss onset but rumours of a rift persist
Tentative proof that the two have made up – on film anyway – came as the two shared what looked like – even for two actresses - a very awkward kiss.
Parker and Cattrall reportedly fell out during the filming of the television show, which ended in 2004.

Friend: Rift began after Cattrall objected to Parker's hefty payday on the original series
Celebrity websites reported attempts to make the movie stalled when Cattrall demanded for the same money as Parker who was always paid more for the television series due to her additional role as executive producer.
However despite coming together on Monday as filming started, reports have already emerged that the feud between Cattrall and Jessica Parker may still be simmering.
Kim is reported to have stormed out of a reunion party for the cast held on the weekend in New York.

The actress was apparently "scowling" as she left the bash at Butter restaurant to celebrate the start of filming Sex and the City: The Movie.
A source told the New York Daily News: "Kim left earlier than the others and was wearing a scowl. She was just shooting a dirty look at the paparazzi."
The source added: "Thirty minutes later the other two left, with big smiles on their faces. Kristen climbed into a town car and Sarah looked like she was walking home."

Natural look: Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon appear to be the best of friends as they stroll together on location
Earlier the actresses arrived for filming looking less than glamorous in their casual clothes. But a few hours in hair and make-up and they were transformed into their chic and stylish New York characters.
But onset at least, it appears the actresses are putting on a united front.
